The Partnership is a pioneering school management organization (SMO) started in 2013 that is shaping the next generation of urban Catholic education. Granted operational management of seven long-standing Pre-K to 8th-grade schools in the South Bronx and Harlem and an additional four schools in the heart of Cleveland beginning in 2020, the Partnership is committed to providing students in historically underserved neighborhoods with the academic preparation, values, and skills they need to excel. The Partnership currently serves over 3,400 students across the network – 99% students of color.

Position Overview
The Development Associate will play an integral part in the overall success of the Development department and assist Partnership Schools in meeting our annual fundraising goals. They will gain a comprehensive insight into development work, and due to the nature of our collaborative working style, they will have the opportunity for professional growth. This position will provide crucial prospect research, manage a robust database of donor information, design meaningful fundraising campaigns, and plan inspirational events. The successful candidate will be a proactive, self-motivated team player.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong operational systems to help track and measure progress to yearly fundraising goals across two regions
- Design and run reports from Salesforce to support goal and engagement tracking
- Help manage donor stewardship, tracking, gift logging and donor acknowledgments
- Assist with the implementation of donor events including school tours, small private gatherings, and more
- Develop and implement strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of new and existing donors
- Research potential individual, foundation, and corporate prospects in support of fundraising goals
- Support Development team with administrative tasks including scheduling, note taking, and event set-up
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior experience in non-profit fundraising preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient using Salesforce or similar donor database or demonstrated ability to learn data systems quickly
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Eager to receive and apply feedback
- Passion for fundraising, school choice, and education reform
- Self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and projects at a time
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google suite, and web applications
- Bachelor’s degree
