Description:  

The Juilliard School seeks a dynamic and proactive Food and Beverage Manager for its dining, catering, and food vending facilities. This new role will play a critical part in maintaining and enhancing student, faculty, staff, and external guests’ satisfaction. This role will work closely with the Juilliard Student Development team and the Office of Special Events, and will report to Juilliard’s Associate Dean of Student Development.

The salary range for this role is $67,600-70,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the quality of dining services in the dining hall, catering, residence hall’s convenience store, student cafe, and vending machines, including regularly reviewing the food and beverage offerings and service for quality, variety, healthiness, presentation, and compliance with health regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a productive and professional relationship with Juilliard’s contracted food service provider, ensuring that quality standards, affordability, and other performance requirements are met. 
  • Work with food service provider to ensure customer-facing staff are properly trained, mentored, and supervised.
  • Manage dining services on behalf of Juilliard in accordance with surveys and other feedback, reflecting a culture of goal setting, data orientation, and continuous improvement.

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a non-profit, university, or cultural institution that includes student performing artists or student athletes.
  • A customer satisfaction-driven mindset.
  • Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, including vendor management, quality control, and food service operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adept at managing a diverse range of food and beverage operations, from student dining to catered events for faculty, staff, guests, and donors.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food service.
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
  • Experience managing food service and/or customer-facing staff preferred.
