Position: Access Coordinator (Part-time, Temp) 

Hourly Commitment: 30 hours/week 

Dates: Sept 1, 2024 through March 31, 2025 

Department: Guest Experience 

Role Overview: Reporting to the Director, Accessibility, this position is responsible for supporting accessibility programs; including Passport to the Arts, designed for children, teens and adults with disabilities and their families, Lincoln Center Moments, for individuals with dementia and their caregivers, and other accessibility initiatives.  The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and/or delivering arts programs across a wide range of disabilities. 

Anticipated Schedule: This role will be scheduled three (3) days during the week (M-F) and one (1) day on the weekend (Saturday or Sunday), depending on the supported events. 

What you’ll get to do here:  

  • Advance and staff accessibility programs including Relaxed Performances, Lincoln Center Moments (for audiences with dementia and their caregivers), Passport to the Arts and Verbal Description tours and programs
  • Staff weekend family events and arts performances, greet families, distribute tickets and manage check-in, and respond to in-person feedback
  • Update and maintain registration for access programs in a customized database
  • Support team of teaching artists, educators and music therapists to collaboratively design workshops for audiences with dementia and their caregivers
  • Support creation and development of virtual arts-based programs
  • Coordinate directly with artists and administrators to plan programs
  • Send regular correspondence to participants via phone and email
  • Contribute to workshop planning, write lesson plans, and organize, test, and manage supplies
  • Conduct outreach and manage registration for individuals, caregivers, groups and families
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as are reasonably related to the duties and responsibilities listed above. 

 

You’ll be a fit if you bring:  

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in following fields; cultural arts, disability studies, education, social work or arts administration
  • Personal, lived or professional experience with disability strongly valued
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including frequent evenings and weekends
  • Passion for inclusion and advocacy in the arts  
  • Collaborative spirit, as well as the ability to work independently 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Customer service experience (in person, phone and email)
  • Comfort communicating with diverse audiences and stakeholders
  • Understanding of how to apply ADA guidelines in a cultural setting  
  • Working knowledge of WCAG compliance a plus
  • Experience in a cultural organization is a plus
  • Experience navigating multiple, complex, on-going projects in a fast-paced environment
