Over the past few years the stature and reach of the Party has increased, and with that so have the invitations and requests for our National Director, Maurice Mitchell. For the remainder of 2024, WFP’s National Director will be traveling to states across the country to speak at convenings, rallies and events. We intend to maximize the impact of our National Director’s public facing work to grow the WFP. WFP is seeking a passionate and innovative Executive Staffing & Intake Manager to join our Executive Department and catapult how we harness the power of our National Director’s influence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Fast Paced Planning: Working with colleagues in the Navigation Division and liaising with WFP states/regions to design, plan, and execute tour stops for our National Director’s speaking engagements around the country starting in mid-August.
Supporting Social Media: Working closely with the Social Media Coordinator and Production Manager to capture social media content for the National Director’s platforms and WFP archives. This includes capturing compelling video clips and photos and uploading them swiftly so that engaging social media content can be turned around quickly for broader dissemination in a fast paced environment.
Intake & Contact Management: Responsible for implementing the Navigation Division’s contact capture systems at all of the National Director’s speaking engagements (e.g. QR business cards, text to joins, notes, uploading lists into the database, and sharing information/action items with relevant staff in a timely manner).
Extensive Travel: Travel and staff our National Director while on the road, attending events, rallies, and meetings with an emphasis on consistently representing the organization and the National Director well and trouble-shooting with a positive disposition.
Logistics Support: Work with the National Director’s Assistant to support travel and event logistics and preparation, demonstrating quick decision-making skills and resourcefulness. Following a checklist of logistical, support and internal and external communications protocols related priorities while traveling with the National Director in order to maximize his schedule and advance the priorities of WFP across an array of different audiences.
Compliance & Systems: Bottom line timely and accurate receipt capture and coding for your and the National Director’s expenditures and refine systems to improve future trips and events (e.g. trip prep checklists).
Professionalism & Discretion: Discretion and professionalism are essential to this role.
Skills and Qualifications
Collaborative Spirit: Must develop excellent rapport with the National Director, Senior Assistant to the National Director, Social Media Coordinator, Production Manager, Communications Director, Executive Communications Manager, Regional/State WFP Directors and other key stakeholders in a high stakes environment.
Creative with an Artistic Eye: The ideal candidate will bring their creativity and artistic eye to this role, from overcoming logistical challenges to capturing the perfect photo opp.
Upbeat Disposition: Things inevitably go awry in this fast paced environment. We’re looking for someone who laughs and pivots to plan b when the flight gets canceled, mirroring our National Director’s upbeat disposition, not dragging him or the team down.
Extremely Flexible Schedule: Comfortable with intense sprints and weekly multi-state travel, mirroring the demanding travel schedule and hours of the National Director. You will spend 75% of your work time traveling.
Strong Listening Skills & Detail Oriented: Must retain key information and detail oriented follow through on action items from planning meetings, preps, events, meetings with a high level of accuracy in a rapidly paced environment
Punctual with a Good Sense of Timing: From getting the National Director in and out of events on time to getting to the airport on time to uploading content for social media to coding expenditures on a monthly basis, there are many elements of this position that require being on time and keeping the team on time.
Driving Skills: Possess a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and a high level of comfort driving as travel will be a significant aspect of the role.
