The DUMBO Improvement District is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing and promoting DUMBO, Brooklyn. The BID showcases DUMBO as a world-class destination, advocating on behalf of DUMBO’s businesses, property owners and residents. A critical part of this mission is neighborhood marketing – telling the stories of the companies, small businesses, residents, artists and more who make up the neighborhood – as well as programming of DUMBO’s wonderful public spaces. THE POSITION
The DUMBO Improvement District seeks a Marketing Intern who will work directly with the Senior VP of Programs on marketing all the cool things happening in DUMBO. This includes designing and executing social media campaigns on various topics, marketing our robust season of programs, profiling interesting companies, businesses and residents in the neighborhood, working on website development, working on the BID’s annual meeting, and more.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Enthusiasm for and dedicated experience with all things Social Media;
- Responsible and detail oriented;
- Office experience working at a small nonprofit or startup a plus;
- Photography skills a plus;
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite & video editing experience a plus.
SCHEDULE:
20 hours per week, mix of office work and events coverage. Office hours are Monday-Friday from 10:30am-5pm. Additional nights and weekends may be required for events. Full schedule will be shared with prospective candidates.
The internship starts week of January 7 and ends after Memorial Day, with the possibility of extending through the full summer season.
