Overview
Help the Workers Center of CNY take our work to the next level when the community needs us most! Keep our organizers organized by maintaining and improving our behind the scenes infrastructure, designing materials and interfaces, supporting communications and helping us document the work that we do to support grant reporting and fundraising. Responsibilities include:
- Digital Tools
- Assist in transition to new member/supporter database and ongoing updates (currently in civiCRM, with planned move to Nation Builder)
- Website updates and maintenance (currently on WordPress, planned move to Nation Builder)
- Contribute to social media (Facebook, Instagram)
- Support management of WhatsApp groups and communities
- Prepare E-Blasts and other digital communications
- Run software updates on office computers
- Administrative Support
- General office support, including opening mail, filing, shredding, ordering supplies
- Assist with grant and program reports
- Process member applications and mail informational packets to worker members as needed
- Program Support
- Occasionally support with signing people in at events
- Design flyers and other materials
QUALIFICATIONS
- A passion for social and economic justice and a strong commitment to organizing and the empowerment of low-income and immigrant populations.
- Strong background and skills using digital tools, including CRMs, WhatsApp, Signal, Canva, Google Workspace and social media platforms
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks
- A collaborative spirit, ability to work independently, and strong interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to an intersectional approach that recognizes how dynamics of race, class, gender, and ability (among other factors), impact the ways we do our work.
- Familiarity with workers’ centers and the landscape of labor organizing and immigrant justice organizing in the U.S. is helpful.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is preferred but not required.
