Overview

The Director, Annual Giving is responsible for spearheading and executing a comprehensive, year-round development plan for the Annual Giving, including goals, strategies and programming aimed at engaging and retaining donors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sr. Director, Member Impact & Giving and Annual Giving volunteer leaders to create a strategic annual plan and budget with a goal of growing Hadassah’s Annual Giving programs from year to year.
  • Serve as senior professional on the Annual Giving team, leading a team of four remote Annual Giving Officers (AGOs), establishing measurable fundraising goals for AGO team, and creating and implementing accountability plans based on these goals.
  • Provide guidance for the development and enhancement of AGO portfolios. Partner with AGOs and, where appropriate, Major Gift Officers (MGO) on donor engagement strategies, ensuring a seamless, donor-centric approach to fundraising.
  • Develop and implement prospect and donor engagement strategies, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, and generate related reports periodically.
  • Build and manage a regional donor/prospect portfolio within the assigned Geographic Area. Represent Hadassah at appropriate internal and external events and activities. 
  • Execute special events – both in-person and virtual – through the engagement of the appropriate national or local volunteers and/or other resources.
  • Engage with the Data Analysis and Impact Center (DAIC) to analyze and adjust activities in response to changing circumstances and priorities to meet goals, proactively address issues as they arise, and mitigate risks associated to fundraising events and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Marketing & Communications, Finance, and Legal departments to ensure that collateral materials for Annual Giving are up-to-date and in compliance with IRS regulations.
  • Provide national and local volunteers with relevant Annual Giving materials for special events, donor engagement, and leadership meetings.
  • Ensure all activities with donors and prospects are appropriately coded in donor management system. Maintain accurate records of all donor/prospect interactions and strategies for future engagement.
  • Working with Development Operations, ensure all functions and processes within the Annual Giving area are in alignment with the organizational goals and priorities, offering solutions when necessary. 
  • Create, lead, and/or attend regular professional development trainings and briefings on Annual Giving, HWZOA, HMO, and more.
