Overview

The Center for Court Innovation is a non-profit organization that works to create a more effective and humane justice system by performing original research and helping launch reforms by guiding justice innovators, nationally and internationally. The Center creates operating projects that have been documented to reduce the use of jail and prison, assist victims of crime, and strengthen communities.   

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Clerk will support the completeness, timeliness and accuracy of financial statements and reports. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Assist the accounting department with daily functions related to various accounting analysis and reconciliations;
    • Process and record cash receipts;
    • Prepare journal entries, as assigned;
    • Assist in obtaining information for auditors;
    • Assist in preparing year-end working papers for auditors;
    • Assist Accountants in obtaining accounts payable information for monthly vouchers;
    • Additional relevant tasks, as needed.

    Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, with Associate Degree and 2 years of bookkeeping experience preferred. Candidate must have good arithmetic, communication and organizational skills. Strong knowledge of computers, including Excel, Microsoft Word and the Internet required. 

    Position Type:  Full-time, salaried exempt.

    Location:  Midtown Manhattan
