Afya is the missing link in the global medical supply chain, delivering better health outcomes by air, ground, and sea.

 

For over a decade, Afya has been creating access to basic medical supplies where there is none—supplies like sutures, bandages, assorted surgical instruments, and more. Afya has developed the know-how and expertise to collect unused medical supplies and equipment from U.S.-based health care providers and deliver these valuable supplies to underserved communities here at home and throughout the world. By addressing the critical shortage of medical supplies in the communities it works with, Afya also increases health care workforce retainment and improves health outcomes for patients.​ At the same time, Afya reduces medical-supply waste in the U.S., extending the shelf-life of these items, and ensuring health care providers have access to the tools they need to provide lifesaving care no matter where they are located.​ 

Position Description

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Administrative Specialist will serve as a key member of Afya’s administration. The successful candidate will help support Afya’s internal initiatives and organizational goals. The Administrative Specialist will be an integral part of Afya’s administrative office, tasked with responsibilities primarily in the HR and IT departments, but also responsible for special projects as assigned. This position is part time on-site with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting administrators in day-to-day tasks, including payroll, presentations, systems management, and reporting
  • Special projects as assigned  

Qualifications

  •  Knowledge and ability to work in Microsoft Office Adobe and payroll platforms
  • Tech savvy, resourceful and problem solver 
  • High energy and passion for Afya’s mission is essential
  • Comfortable with working in a nontraditional work environment
