Part-time Elementary Spanish Teacher
The Roberts Field School seeks an experienced, part-time, elementary Spanish teacher to design and lead all aspects of unit and lesson plans collaborating with general classroom teachers and other specialists to integrate thematic units of study. Our ideal candidate has robust, multidisciplinary, classroom experience, a commitment to collaboration, and a strong interest in integrating arts and movement, nature, and culture into the study of language.
The Roberts Field School is an independent, K-5, elementary school in Park Slope, Brooklyn unifying academics, creativity, and nature through interdisciplinary education, promoting a more peaceful, just, and innovative world.

The nexus of the Roberts Field curriculum is an interdisciplinary approach in which the academic curriculum becomes one with the creative process.
Each blended-grade class of approximately 16 students is co-taught by two teachers.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and guide Spanish curriculum for all grades k-5
- Prepare student materials and provide regular feedback on student work.
- Establish and manage classroom social-emotional and behavioral expectations.
Mindset:
- Commitment to collaborative lesson planning and teaching
- Interest and experience in teaching interdisciplinary Spanish curricula
- Skill and proficiency in social-emotional curriculum and classroom management
- Self-reflective, growth mindset open to support and feedback
Master’s Degree in Education, Teaching Certification preferred
