As a PSS Social Worker, you will be responsible for coordinating supportive services for residents in one of the many communities that PSS serves. The Social Worker’s role is vital in ensuring effective supportive services are put in place that allows the residents to remain independent, active and to thrive in their home and community.
This is a full-time non-exempt position that reports directly to the Director of Community Social Services.
Starting Salary: $50,000.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide advocacy, support, and general case assistance services, including intakes and referrals, to all residents who need help or support.
Collaborate with other agencies and service providers in the local community.
Innovate programming and workshops, based on the needs and input from community members.
Educate clients on service availability, application procedures, clients’ rights, and provide advocacy and follow up when appropriate.
Develop and implement support and activity groups on a wide range of topics, with community members across the aging spectrum.
Help the community members build informal
support networks with other neighborhood residents, families, and friends.
Draft and submit required reports in a complete and timely fashion.
Promote the agency by performing outreach, participating in community events, and representing it to the public.
Effectively utilize social media and other digital communication tools to reach a broad audience.
Communicate with supervisor and other staff in a timely fashion and meet all required deadlines.
Actively pursue and take full advantage of opportunities for professional growth and development. Follow and subscribe to professional development resources.
Comply with PSS personnel policy guidelines.
Attend Supervision and Team Meeting.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (Master’s preferred)
Strong Program Management Skills
Experience working with multiple age groups.
Superior Interpersonal and Organizational Skills
Superior communication skills (written and oral)
Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) highly preferred
