Project Renewal’s healthcare program includes Federal Qualified Health Centers/Article 28 Diagnostic and Treatment Centers and mobile health units, OASAS licensed sites and embedded nursing and psychiatry services inside shelter and housing programs. Empathetic, trauma- and harm reduction- informed services are delivered at low or no cost without barriers to our clients who often have severe mental illnesses, co-occurring substance use disorders, and multiple chronic medical conditions.

Title: Grants Project Manager

Location: 200 Varick St. NY, NY

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Vice President for Healthcare Strategy, the Grants Project Manager is responsible for the Healthcare Department’s portfolio of federal and nonprofit grants as well as the project manager for ensure compliance with grant-funded programs. The scope of responsibilities for this position includes working with program leaders to create and submit grant required documents, creating and managing grant budgets, liaising with finance to ensure grant funds are appropriately allocated, and ensuring compliance of grant-funded activities.

The ideal candidate for this role should have superior organizational and communication skills and detailed budgeting and monitoring skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Grants Management

  • Coordinate submission of all required reporting and documentation on funded grants and contracts
  • Research, write/prepare, and submit (with approval) grant applications, reporting and submissions, such as preparing and submitting grant applications, progress reports, and required documentations
  • Coordinate submission of all required reporting and documentation on funded grants and contracts and assist in the administration of grants administrative portals, including HRSA Electronic Handbook (EHB) and Grants.gov
  • Coordinate and attend grant-related meetings (e.g., planning and implementation, technical assistance opportunity participation, etc.)
  • With members of Healthcare Department and leadership, ensure grants compliance with regulations and requirements
  • Collaborate with program staff to develop and implement grant objectives and activities
  • Manage grant activities timelines and deliverables
  • Develop, prepare, and monitor budgets
  • Serve as the department liaison with Project Officers and Grants Management Specialists
  • Coordinate grantor relations and requests for site visits and other activities and project manage preparation for audits/site visits

Financial and Accounting Management

  • Monitor all grant-related expenditures and drawn downs in collaboration with the finance department
  • Collaborate with finance team to track and analyze financial data to ensure expenditures align with budgets on a monthly basis
  • With direction and approval, reconcile actual and grant budgets and create grant reports for funders

Board Meeting

  • Prepare agenda and documents for all board meeting and healthcare committee meeting
  • Ensure compliance with grants regulations and requirements in board meeting[RS1] by informing Board Liaison and CMO of needed Board-required activities and managing required tasks to achieve compliance

Project Management

  • Serves as project manager for projects related to the above duties, upon request

Qualifications:

  • Minimum four-year degree required, Master’s in a related area preferred (public health, health administration, English, journalism, communications, etc.)
  • Prior grant writing/grant administration experience required; specific experience with governmental grants/contracts preferred; experience writing for health-related fields preferred
  • Experience with Health Resources and Services Administration, such as Ryan White or Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) grants preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and possess strong research, analysis, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, effectively, and persuasively, both orally and in writing; strong editing skills
  • Strong project management skills; highly organized, excellent detail orientation and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and task-oriented, with the ability to work independently and effectively maneuver between multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and team-based environment
  • Ability to use good judgment when carrying out responsibilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective, professional relationships with all internal and external contacts
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct, HRSA EHB, and/or Grants.gov a plus
