Overview
The Assistant Building Engineer, Facility and Event Operations will work in CFR’s Facility Operations department, and report directly to Deputy Director, Building Operations.
This is a full-time position, and the hours of this position are Monday through Friday 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. However, this position is considered essential personnel, and will be expected to work flexible hours upon request.
The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
- Assist in routine maintenance work on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
- Carpentry, drywall, painting, basic equipment repairs, etc.
- Knowledge of Life Safety & Security Systems (includes Fire Alarm Panel, Security Alarms, etc.)
- Provide assistance with set-up and breakdown of furniture in event spaces.
- Remove snow and ice, and keep sidewalks clean and safe during inclement weather.
- Ensure the cleanliness and appearance of both interior and exterior of the building areas.
- Assist with other related duties as requested or required.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years related facilities/building experience in a high profile organization, corporation, or high rise apartment complex
- Knowledge of building operating systems, i.e. BMS System (monitors our HVAC & Boilers)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Strong customer service and verbal and written communication skills
- Highest level of dependability and professionalism; strong attention to detail with proven ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently, and on a team; positive, proactive, flexible, results-oriented team player
- Ability to work flexible and periodic long hours, including periodically on holidays and weekends
- Ability to lift and carry weight in excess of 70 pounds (i.e. packages, office furniture, etc.)
