La Peninsula is seeking qualified Family Workers to fill vacancies in our program. Family Workers implement the Family Service component area. He/she provides a planned program of experiences and activities which enhance the parental role as primary educator, policy makers and community leaders.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

➢ Ensuring that the enrollment/re-enrollment criteria is met

➢ Implementation and follow through of daily attendance

➢ Family goal setting through the Family Partnership Agreement

➢ Creating empowerment opportunities for parents to become their own advocates

➢ Meeting with parents on a monthly basis and working with parent committees to plan activities and follow through with suggestions and/or concerns

➢ Identifying signs of crises and making referrals to link families with appropriate services

➢ Identifying signs of suspected and/or known child abuse and/or neglect

➢ Networking with community agencies by establishing partnerships and being visible within the community

➢ Participating in the on-going recruitment of children and families

➢ Scheduling and planning home visits

➢ Ensuring class orientations and elections are completed and encouraging parents to take active roles in their children’s classroom

Qualifications

➢ Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited college in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, or related field (preferred)

➢ Associates’ Degree from an accredited college in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, or related field

➢ FDC credential (within eighteen (18) months of hire)
