Working on the Research and Analytics team, the Manager, Research and Evaluation supports the design of research projects as well as the collection and analysis of data and reporting of findings. This role will report directly to the Senior Director, Research and Analytics and manage the Data Analyst.

The role of the Manager, Research and Evaluation includes:supporting the Senior Director, Research and Analytics in designing research projects, evaluation plans, and data collection instruments, collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to internal and external stakeholders to measure the quality and impact of our initiatives and inform strategic planning and ongoing program improvement, identifying issues with data cleanliness and quality and overseeing the Data Analyst in planning and executing projects to address those needs.

Ideal candidates will be proficient with the tools and systems used by the organization to obtain, track, and analyze data, including Salesforce, Tableau, and Alchemer. The management of these systems and ability to utilize them to fulfill data needs will be a key aspect of the role of the Manager, Research and Evaluation.

This is a full-time position that is based in New York City. A regular hybrid work schedule, requiring 2 in-office days per week, is currently in place. Subject to change. We are not considering remote applicants.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the collection, analysis, and management of data and ensure data is readily available across the organization and illustrates current outcomes and impact
  • Support the development and refinement of data collection instruments and practices to ensure the data collected are high-quality, applicable, and consistent with data collected in past years
  • Oversee and manage several survey administrations each year
  • Conduct the merging, cleaning, and deduping of data obtained from multiple sources
  • Utilize Tableau to develop data dashboards and visualizations that display results (both static and in real-time)
  • Collaborate with the System Operations team to ensure that data is reportable, easily handled, and well-documented, identifying data inconsistencies and cleaning data when needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Statistics, Math, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field 
  • Minimum 4+ years of prior experience with research and evaluation including data collection analysis, and reporting 
  • Experience with conceptualizing and designing research projects
  • Expertise with data manipulation and analysis using multiple compatible and non-compatible systems and tools (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, Advanced Excel, Python, SQL)
  • Experience identifying inconsistencies in data structures and data cleanliness
  • An eye for details with superb organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
  • Thrives in dynamic environment; able to work effectively to meet tight deadlines and goals
  • Desire to learn and grow as part of a small organization; standout teammate with a flexible, creative, and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in computer science, technology, and/or education preferred
