LISC National Sports & Recreation Program is a program within National LISC, the nation’s largest Community Development Financial 
Institution (CDFI). The program manages relationships with the NFL Foundation, Foot Locker, Atlanta United Foundation and ESPN, 
which provide non-profits, neighborhood-based organizations, middle schools, and high schools with financing and technical 
assistance to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of recreation spaces.

The LISC National Child Care and Early Learning Department focuses on expanding equitable access to quality childcare and early 
education options across urban and rural America. LISC has been an advocate, thought leader and resource in the field on early 
childhood facility policy, financing and practice for more than two decades, and we are expanding our work in this area in light of the 
significant opportunities to rebuild the industry with a focus on equity in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Program Assistant will be responsible for ensuring efficient departmental operations for these two dynamic national programs 
by providing a range of essential administrative functions. In addition, the Program Assistant will provide support to the Sport & 
Recreation & Child Care teams to ensure grant/contract management is timely and accurate and programs are administered 
smoothly and effectively.

Responsibilities include grant administration, compliance and disbursements, data management, report and presentation assistance 
and financial management. The candidate must be proactive, organized, able to perform multiple tasks and work well with others; 
possess outstanding administrative and computer skills, have excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate 
sound data and financial acumen. The position offers exposure to a broad range of community development activities. More 
specific tasks include:

Administrative Responsibilities
• Assist VP of Sports and Recreation and Senior Director of Child Care with core program management for each respective 
department, including but not limited to conducting research & gathering and analyzing data that supports programmatic 
outcomes, assisting with preparation of reports and proposals and coordinating work with other LISC teams 
• Assist with general office administrative management functions, such as, processing invoices, general office supply 
orders (as needed) and management of expense reports including corporate card statements
• Assist VP of Sports and Recreation and Senior Director of Child Care with tracking and managing financial resources 
across an array of sources and timelines
• Manage Office Master Calendar – which may include, staff schedules, upcoming staff meetings, coordination of external 
virtual meetings and convening’s, community meetings, and events.
• Administer, track, and update partner impact reports, and communication materials used to promote programming
• Track data and develop accurate, accessible, and up-to-date reports on grantee/partner projects and program 
accomplishments
• Provide logistical and programmatic support and coordination to advance LISC programs
Program Responsibilities
• Support program focused initiatives, including tracking and reporting on grant outcomes, preparing grant agreements, 
reviewing financial reports, processing grant disbursements, and supporting grant compliance
• Utilize web-based applications for project management, file organization, and communication with internal and external 
partners
• Research fundraising leads and assist with pulling together prospectus and application materials as needed
• Support internal and external communications efforts
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred, however relevant work experience may be 
substituted 
• Minimum 3 years professional administrative experience 
• Demonstrated work in community development or a related field preferred 
• Excellent writing and communication skills; social media experience a plus
• Experience analyzing and organizing conceptual and quantitative information, including financial information
• Facilitate multiple and varied projects with strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a team
• Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Familiarity with Video Conferencing including WebEx, MS Teams, Box, and Salesforce preferred
• Experience working effectively with diverse staff and stakeholders
• Available for periodic travel to NYC office and meetings
