Overview

92NY is looking for a Teen Programs Manager to join its Center for Arts Learning and Leadership (CALL), a team dedicated to delivering exceptional arts and humanities education to K-12 school communities across New York City and beyond. The Teen Programs Manager provides key programmatic support of 92NY’s programs that give students (and their teachers and family members) the opportunity to experience mainstage events at our historic cultural center – and to participate in related workshops and educational experiences at their schools. The Teen Programs Manager is responsible for a range of duties, including facilitating school group attendance at 92NY live events, including events that take place on select evenings and weekends; supporting 92NY’s teaching artists who lead pre- and post-event workshops for students at their schools; and assisting CALL’s Associate Director and Director in the development of new teen initiatives.

ABOUT 92NY’s CENTER FOR ARTS LEARNING AND LEADERSHIP (CALL)

CALL works to provide students the tools that will help them express their experiences of the world and the world they want to build – to help them find their place in the world. We do this by providing classrooms with the rare opportunity to engage directly with 92Y mainstage talent and to participate in extended in-school residencies led by expert teaching artists with specially designed curriculum. We also provide paid internships to NYC high school students who want to explore careers in the creative industries. We are committed to collaborating with public schools and schools that are under-resourced.

  • Work with CALL Director and Associate Director to develop and expand arts education programs for classrooms in collaboration with programming Centers across the institution, including 92NY’s Unterberg Poetry Center, Tisch Concerts, and Harkness Dance Center.
  • Coordinate classroom attendance at 92NY live events.
  • Support CALL Teaching Artists in developing curricula for school-based workshops that prepare students for their experience at 92NY live events.
  • Coordinate Teaching Artists’ visits to the schools and support the Teaching Artists on-site at the schools (e.g., assist with basic tech setup for a music workshop).
  • Provide support in the design and implementation of Teen Arts Week, a citywide festival of the arts for teens featuring free access to 30+ cultural venues in all five boroughs.
  • Generate ideas for and support implementation of new teen initiatives to promote 92NY’s values of youth leadership, community building, and increasing arts access.
  • Support CALL’s program evaluation process by gathering data from program stakeholders via dissemination of surveys and organizing of focus groups.
  • Manage project budgets as they relate to teen programs.
  • Assist with recruitment of new schools.
  • May be assigned additional related duties as required.
