Your Department
The Development team strategically plans, organizes, and executes fundraising initiatives to secure financial support for the organization’s mission and activities. This includes cultivating strong relationships with donors, executing events, implementing campaigns, and ensuring effective stewardship of contributions. We collaborate with regional offices to support and improve fundraising operations at the local level, expanding the organization’s reach and impact.
Your Impact
This position makes an impact at AJC by managing work with moderate, but important impact on the organization’s mission and goals. Works with regular oversight to solve moderately complex problems and make moderate and significant decisions.
The incumbent manages campaigns and events to secure financial resources to support the agency’s mission and activities. Working under direct supervision, this position is responsible for the cultivation, engagement, solicitation, and stewardship of existing donors and new prospects, coordinating fundraising events, and serving as a Development liaison and resource to assigned Departments or Regional Offices.
Your Role
- Contribute to the development and execution of the department’s strategy, goals, objectives, and action plans
- Manage, and facilitate fundraising campaigns, programs, events, and initiatives
- Identify, research, cultivate, engage, solicit, and steward existing donors and new prospects
- Implement new opportunities to expand departmental initiatives beyond existing fundraising programs
- Participate and support the work of Boards, committees, task forces, or working groups
- Leverage resources to help build awareness of and support for the AJC and department initiatives
- Track fundraising progress throughout the year
- Manage department contact lists, records, data/databases, and reporting
- Create reports and analyze fundraising activities, metrics and impact
- Research donors and donor prospects
- Coordinate, attend, and/or lead meetings
- Serve as a liaison to departments, Boards, committees, and other stakeholders
Specific to This Role
The Assistant Director, Donor Relations is responsible for Donor Recognition Society operations, and stewarding major donors through the Donor Recognition Societies programs. The Assistant Director manages the Donor Center team and various aspects of donor engagement and provides a monthly review of Donor Recognition Society benefit program to ensure effective stewardship.

Education, Training, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience and intermediate job skills and knowledge

Compensation
The salary for this position is $70,000 – $82,000, depending on relevant experience and location.
