Position

As the Social Media Associate, we will trust you to use your expertise and creative skills to develop unique digital (organic social, web, audio) content that will engage external and internal audiences, and grow our social media properties including Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and any other emerging platforms. For each platform, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development, planning, management, and execution of content for all digital campaigns and handle the day-to-day relationship with our agencies. You will work with team members to help craft and implement our digital strategy and drive our storytelling efforts.

The successful candidate will ensure that our social media is performing at the highest level. This role requires an individual with outstanding communications and interpersonal skills, who is creative, detail oriented, discreet, organized, collaborative, and willing to step up and help team members and external partners.

You have a strong work ethic and thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment. You are energetic, enjoy problem-solving, and are curious and knowledgeable about the latest technology and digital platforms. .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and complete social media campaigns that help tell the story of our work and our organization’s leaders, while engaging and growing our audience
  • Track news-worthy moments from events for us to engage with on social media. Copyedit and draft original social media content and get approvals from relevant collaborators
  • Provide support for special projects like events, announcements, launches, and other key moment that have a digital or social components
  • Publish content to social channels including Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and any other new platforms
  • Work with influencers and surrogates
  • Collaborate with the Paid Media Specialist on the digital team to ensure organic and paid social media is jointly improving our engagement and reach
  • Be responsible for the creation of social graphics created with tools like Photoshop, Canva, and or a graphic artist/agency
  • Own the daily digital content agencies – including oversight of their publishing calendar, setting goals and priorities, and providing quick and concise feedback. Collaborate with digital content agencies on social media monitoring requests and reports
  • Oversee the Digital team’s social analytics and lead analytics requests from internal teams. Assess new technologies and platforms that may be relevant for our digital strategy and growth
  • Advise and support communications leads on digital strategies for their program areas

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 4 years’ experience managing, developing and implementing large-scale social media strategies, developing audiences, and performing communications for a variety of channels (i.e. Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Reddit) ideally with high-profile, fast-paced organizations and/or public figures
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Excellent writing and copy editing skills for social media and longer form content (e.g. blogs, newsletters)
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously under tight deadlines while keeping an attention to detail
  • Familiarity with in-platform and third-party social media analytics tools
  • Ability to work successfully and efficiently with minimal supervision, yet seeks and takes direction appropriately
  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments and a proven track record of delivering high quality results.

  • Ability to travel domestic and/or internationally as needed
