Overview

As the Talent Acquisition Director,  you will help find, recruit, and hire the best and brightest talent for Breakthrough New York’s full-time staff, seasonal staff, and volunteers. Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance & Operations, you will be responsible for utilizing traditional and creative recruitment techniques to identify and hire exceptional team members. You will also work with BTNY people managers to streamline performance management systems and ongoing staff trainings. You will be charged with developing a strategic plan for recruiting, cultivating, and retaining talent.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively sourcing, recruiting, and maintaining a strong candidate pipeline for all full-time staff, seasonal staff, and long-term volunteer roles
  • Providing the initial screening for candidates applying to full-time, seasonal, and long-term volunteer positions at BTNY
  • Managing, and actively participating in large-scale, high-volume seasonal staff and long-term volunteer recruitment
  • Collaborating with the relevant hiring managers/teams to design a thoughtful hiring process
  • Designing and executing talent acquisition strategies that enhance the organization’s visibility in key recruiting markets
  • Building a robust pipeline and diverse pool of potential candidates that could meet current or future hiring needs
  • Measuring key recruitment metrics, such as source of hire, candidate satisfaction, and onboarding experience
  • Overseeing the performance management system (bi-annual performance reviews, ongoing staff surveys) for all BTNY staffing and volunteer positions
  • Manage BTNY’s internal professional development systems
  • Analyzing hiring and retention trends to inform organizational talent priorities 
  • Other duties as assigned

We’re Looking for Someone Who Has:

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years experience with full-time staff, intern and/or volunteer recruitment 
  • Experience creating and leading trainings for staff and/or volunteers
  • Strong project management skills, including setting, communicating, and maintaining timelines and priorities on mission-critical, deadline-driven projects
  • Capacity to effectively work cross-functionally with Program and External Relations teams to coordinate and streamline recruitment and training processes
  • Skilled with recruiting technology and metrics, including applicant tracking systems and reporting
  • Demonstrated experience and results with similar responsibilities to those listed above
  • Confidence with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint in particular) and comfortable learning new systems; experience with Salesforce a plus

Covid-19 Vaccination + Booster Policy

All full-time staff, seasonal staff, and volunteers at BTNT must to be “up to date” with their COVID-19 vaccination. “Up to date” means that you’ve received your original COVID-19 vaccine course and any boosting dose for which you are eligible. Proof of vaccination will be requested upon offer. Candidates requesting a an exemption to this policy based on a qualifying medical condition or sincerely held religious belief may pursue this option upon offer with our Senior Director of Finance & Operations.
