About the Operations Coordinator Role: 

BRIC seeks an Operations Coordinator to organize, maintain, and supply BRIC’s community media center physical facilities, and support both Public Equipment and Education as needed. 

What You’ll Do in the Role:

The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for the following in addition to any other projects as assigned by their manager, Manager, Community Producer Services:

  • Monitor equipment and facilities; arrange for repairs and cleaning/upkeep, working with internal staff and outside vendors.
  • Maintain BRIC equipment at branch locations. Assist with the use of inventory control systems for equipment and space usage.
  • Assist with the preparation of policies, forms and schedules; monitor adherence to policies.
  • Assist with enrollment, record-keeping and document preparation for the adult education program.
  • Purchase equipment and replace expendable supplies, following BRIC’s purchasing policies.
  • Assist community producers in their use of facilities and equipment.
  • Provide backup in Public Equipment as needed.
  • Prepare documents using Word and Excel.
  • Arrange and facilitate yearly inventory for Brooklyn Free Speech Equipment and studio spaces.

  • Experience & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of related work experience.
  • Associate degree or higher in media production or related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience working with audio/video equipment.
  • Experience with databases and/or inventory control.
  • Technical repair, construction, set-building, studio production skills are a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: An emotionally intelligent, values, and results-driven team player who can collaborate across departments and at all levels of the organization. An excellent communicator who prioritizes customer service.
