The BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! is NYC’s longest-running, free performance festival, and a beloved summer tradition featuring approximately 30 varied large-scale performances and attracting upwards of 200,000 people each summer to the Prospect Park Bandshell.

About the Site Coordinator BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Role: 

BRIC seeks a part-time hands-on Site Coordinator who will report to the Operations Manager, ensuring that the site is prepped, cleaned and restored before and after each performance. 

What You’ll Do in the Role:

The Site Coordinator will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by the Operations Manager, BCB:

  • Oversee the venue’s Front of House maintenance and operations ensuring overall cleanliness of front of house areas.
  • Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise the Green Team.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, track, and oversee the installation, use, and maintenance of all onsite vendors including portable toilets, Bandshell restrooms, ATMs, bike parking, and food, beverage, and merchandise concessions.
  • Coordinate and assist with all ongoing vendor needs, issues, and repair of vendor spaces. Work with vendors to ensure they clean spaces on a daily basis.
  • Ensure portable toilets are serviced by contractors as per schedule.
  • Recruit, interview, train and supervise Green Team.

Throughout the Season:

  • Do daily walk-throughs onsite and outside perimeter to identify problems and generally fix site problems as they arise. Maintain overall safety and cleanliness.
  • Direct Green Team to ensure site, restrooms, portable toilets, trash and recycling receptacles, etc. are maintained before site opens, throughout each show and after close each day.
  • Work directly with the Green Team to pick-up and bag trash and recycling throughout and at the end of each show, leaving the site and perimeter clean for the next day.
  • Coordinate with the Parks Department night supervisor and garbage truck driver to ensure timely pick up of trash. Record arrival and departure times and send notes to the Artist Services and Operations Associate for inclusion in show reports.
  • Coordinate scheduling and collection of aluminum cans with recycling vendor.
  • Send site maintenance notes on a daily post-show basis for inclusion in Show Reports.
  • Work with the Front of House Manager, Entrance Staff and Member Check-In to set up entrance barricades, signage, etc.
  • Identify larger repairs, fence repairs, site lighting problems, and other needs and report the same to production staff on a timely basis.
  • Order supplies and maintain a staff tent for FOH operations.
  • Manage and expedite timekeeping for the Green Team.
  • Close site after each performance by 12:30AM

Post Season:

  • Coordinate the load-out for onsite vendors: Concessions, Beverages, Merchandise, Bike Zone, Portable toilets.

  • Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 or more years of work experience in a music/performance venue or theater environment (or equivalent).
  • Experience with tools, general repairs, and facility maintenance.
  • Excellent oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor and work ethic.
  • Solid leadership skills and willing to pitch in wherever needed.
  • Able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously in a busy/crowded environment.
  • Interest in performing arts & familiarity with the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!
  • Commitment to Equity & Inclusion: Brings experience operationalizing equity within the Performing Arts and or Hospitality function.   

Other Things to Know:

  • Status and location: This is a part-time, exempt role based at the Prospect Park Bandshell. Hours will vary each week. 
  • April 22 – June 7: pre-season planning & training hours.  
  • June 8 – Aug 24: 2024 Season: Most shows occur on Friday and Saturday evenings with some exceptions. 
  • The Site Coordinator will be provided an exact schedule of dates upon hire, and be expected to attend all trainings and events. 
  • Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $30.
