Job Description: Education Department Assistant

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The BAE Education Department Assistant supplies administrative support to BAE’s Deputy Director regarding the management of BAE’s education programs.

Duties include:

● Act as liaison with school & community center administrators re: timesheet approvals/scheduling

● Order supplies to help support AIE programs in schools

● Secure substitute Teaching Artists for assignments

● Prepare budgetary spreadsheets & finance reports

● Prepare metrics for grant proposals & reports

● Work collaboratively with BAE’s Controller

● Data entry:

○ Updating Teaching Artist schedules

○ Creation of Teaching Artist digital timesheets

○ Creation of Purchase Orders(POs) & invoices for collection of mid / end of school year payments

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

● Data entry experience

● Knowledge of Google & Microsoft Office Suite

● Minimum Associate / Bachelor degree

PREFERRED SKILLS

● Strong office-tech administrative skills.

● Strong communication skills.

● Familiarity with basic finance.

● Familiarity with NYC Dept of Education systems & not-for-profit administration.

● Organized, project-driven, efficient worker.

*This is a hybrid, hourly position, requiring minimal monthly on-site work in the BAE office.
