Title: Teaching Artist – Music
Overview: CEI Arts Education is looking for a Music Teaching Artist to work on Mondays during October 2022-May 2023. We are looking for seasoned arts educators with experience in teaching ELA and Math through the arts and with experience working with elementary school students with disabilities.
Responsibilities:
● Facilitate Professional Development workshops – Arts instruction – virtually via Zoom
● Participate in Staff Trainings and Professional Development workshops
● Refine and differentiate provided curriculum to meet specific needs of classes
● Develop lessons, resources, and materials as needed
● Complete relevant paperwork
● Communicate regularly with CEI staff, and teachers
Qualifications:
● Minimum of five years’ experience working as a teaching artist/arts educator
● BA or MA
● Experience working with NYC Public Schools
● Experience working with Special Education classes
● Experience creating and teaching arts-integrated lessons that teach academic content
● Fingerprinted with NYCDOE
● Proficient in all Google Suite applications (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
● Comfortable with Google Meets, Google Classroom and Zoom
● Ability to participate as part of an interdisciplinary team
● Excellent communication skills
Rate: Quarter day/ Half day/Full day
