Overview

Position Summary:  Under the supervision of the Deputy Director Behavioral Health, the supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and administrative oversight of behavioral health services provided at Mirabel Sisters School Campus and Salome Urena School Campus through the mental health clinics located within the health centers. The supervisor will provide clinical supervision of the master’s level mental health providers and will act as liaison and provide coordination between the school administration, Community school staff, other stakeholders and School Based mental Health team. The supervisor will be responsible for the development, implementation, and documentation of the SSP III program.

Responsibilities: 

  • Meets with clinical staff on a regular basis for clinical and administrative supervision.
  • Documents time and results of supervisory meetings.
  • Develops and implements plan to promote or provide selective and universal interventions for school community. Serves as liaison to the referral sources and integrates the services of the mental health clinic in the school community.
  • Works with SBHC Medical Office Manager to ensure smooth integration of care with medical providers, including huddles and warm hand-offs.
  • Ensures that all referrals for Behavioral Health Services are addressed in a timely manner, assigned and tracked with feedback to appropriate parties.
  • Conducts or designates staff to carry out initial screenings and intake procedures. Reviews screenings and intake information (with assigned staff) and makes admissions decisions.
  • Participates and presents at PA meetings, PD’s, teacher meetings, assemblies, etc. around topics relevant to children’s mental health
  • Consults with teachers/administrators on student problems in the classroom. Provides information on psychosocial issues related to class behavior, especially issues that relate to health concerns.
  • Ensures that all clinical services are documented in a thorough and timely fashion and that staff follows N.Y.S. O.M.H. Part 599 Regulations and all regulatory agency mandates.
  • Ensures that supervisee manages their time and caseloads effectively and that the productivity goals are met.
  • Ensures that supervisees activity is properly documented and entered in the electronic medical record based on current regulatory standards and are submitted on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Conducts periodic quality assurance audits of case records and implements corrective measures as needed.

 Qualifications: 

  • LCSW or LMHC required
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
  • Extensive clinical experience in treatment of children and families struggling with mentally illness in a culturally competent and trauma informed manner within a School Based Behavioral Health Center.
  • Experience in staff supervision and program administration.
  • Experience with Evidence Based Treatments, especially TFCBT preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational and communication skills.
  • Compliance with all privacy laws including H.I.P.A.A.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
