Overview

Position Summary:

The CACPCS Performance Analyst works directly with staff at CACPCS and Children’s Aid’s staff with related content level expertise to create sustainable data-driven operations at CACPCS in order to increase the school’s effectiveness and to ensure positive outcomes for its scholars. The CACPCS Performance Analyst will accomplish this by: (1)defining an appropriate set of data-focused behaviors within the school in collaboration with school leadership; (2) creating data structures and protocols in support of school’s mission, vision and goals; (3) train leadership and staff on those structures and protocols; (4) strengthening the capabilities of leadership and staff at all levels of the school to demonstrate those behaviors and use data effectively to make decisions and improve practice; and (5) work collaboratively with staff and leadership to bring best practices to CACPCS. The Performance Analyst will fulfill a broad range of responsibilities guided by Children’s Aid’s and CACPCS’s shared mission. They will be supervised by the CACPCS Head of School and Content Specialist.

Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 (Annually)

Location: Children’s Aid College Prep Charter School – 1232 Southern Boulevard., Bronx, NY 10459

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with CACPCS leadership and staff to implement all phases of continuous quality improvement, including but not limited to identifying indicators, planning data collection, analyzing operational and outcomes data, developing improvement strategies when needed, and monitoring ongoing performance.
  • Work collaboratively with school leadership, Operations Managers and Operations Assistants to streamline, manage and monitor data collection processes within the school.
  • Participate in school leadership and staff meetings to build capacity at all levels for driving performance management.
  • Advise leadership on how to collaboratively advance a data-driven culture.
  • Work with leadership to define program models appropriate to school operations and funding expectations.
  • Manage and analyze data in an applied setting.
  • Provide written analyses and visual representations of performance.
  • Report out at monthly CACPCS Board meetings as needed.
  • Support the Head of School in responding to requests from the New York State Department of Education and SUNY, the school’s authorizer.
  • Assist leadership and staff in meeting regulatory, contractual, and best practice standards, as well as maximal operational efficiency.
  • Develop an understanding of and proficiency with using all of the school’s data systems (e.g. NYSED portals, ATS, TeacherEase, etc.) with the ability to propose new systems.
  • Work with other performance management staff at Children’s Aid to collectively support work at CACPCS and promote accountability and learning throughout CACPCS and Children’s Aid.
  • Developing data collection, management, reporting and analysis protocols.
  • Using logic models, root cause analysis, and continuous quality improvement cycles.
  • Adhering to CA and CACPCS’s data-sharing agreement.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of all CACPCS data and documents in adherence with the data-sharing agreement.
  • Conducting data analyses, producing reports, and testing hypotheses.
  • Identifying outcomes, monitoring implementation, and producing results reports for grants and contracts.
  • Assisting in model development and fidelity measurement.
  • Providing training, technical assistance, and capacity building to CACPCS leadership and staff.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of experience evaluating and improving program or operational performance in a non-profit, educational or government setting. Direct experience with applied research techniques helpful.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required in social work, psychology, education, data science or other field related to the work of the organization; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working with educational data is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with exceptional Excel skills required; proficiency in SPSS preferred.
  • Strong analytic skills required. Ability to meet deadlines and creatively problem solve. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfort performing hands-on work as well as assisting in strategic planning projects.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships and communicate effectively about data with multiple stakeholders in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to travel to between the two CACPCS locations as needed and Children’s Aid’s headquarters in Manhattan.
