Overview

Position Summary:  The Office of Talent Management and Human Resources (TMHR) at Children’s Aid (CA) supports the organization’s 2,000+ workforce through a range of functions. The Talent Management team’s role is to strengthen the organization’s efforts to attract, develop and retain talented staff. Through a combination of strategic focus and hands-on training, the team ensures we are hiring the right people in the right jobs, and creating and implementing talent and learning strategies across the organization to improve performance, retention, and long-term success.

As members of the Talent Management team, Talent Partners (TPs) are ambassadors of Children’s Aid and serve as front-facing team members, primarily interfacing with candidates, hiring managers and sourcing partners. With oversight from the Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition and Talent Management and Director of Talent Management, TPs support Children’s Aid’s high-volume recruitment and onboarding efforts.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Full-Cycle Recruitment (70%)

  • Facilitate in house full-cycle recruitment activities for designated programs –support job descriptions, job requisitions, job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, preparing offer letters, and new and/or transitioned employee onboarding.
  • Participate in strategic recruitment efforts and proactively support recruitment and sourcing strategies including:
  • Devise effective candidate pipelining activities in line with current and future needs
  • Utilize effective recruitment techniques and develop long term relationships with schools, professional associations, publications, and agencies to broaden pool of potential applicants
  • Proactively network with potential candidates to develop pipeline of talent for future openings
  • Represent the organization to enhance employer brand through recruitment platforms such as job fairs, career events, networking and other mediums
  • Track relevant current market trends and salaries
  • Maintain a resume bank by type of position, program, hiring manager, etc.
  • Own the sourcing strategy via internal and external channels
  • Conduct initial telephone and/or face to face interviews to screen applicants
  • Conduct reference checks
  • Prep interview materials for hiring manager and/or other hiring team members
  • Facilitate communication between candidate and hiring manager.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of job descriptions and build an understanding of the organization’s jobs, program structures, and actively stay abreast of changing program needs.
  • Develop relationships with hiring managers and other stakeholders to maximize the overall talent acquisition function.
  • Provide objective assessment and recommendations to hiring managers in candidate selection, ensuring integrity from a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion lens.
  • Identify areas of improvement with ATS, hiring/onboarding processes and other areas to support the continuous improvement of Talent Acquisition functions.
  • Collaborate with members of the TMHR team, hiring managers and HR Liaisons, and other organization’s business partners for a seamless hiring/onboarding process that aligns with internal policies/guidelines and business processes.
  • Facilitate the initial coordination of pre-employment, and ensure successful completion of hire via ATS.
  • Manage documentation and record keeping for filled positions, as per employment laws.
  • Maintain awareness of city and state laws/regulations that affect the interview and selection process.

 

Data Integrity and Reporting (20%)

  • Track recruitment data to support organization’s recruitment and retention strategy.
  • Utilize the Applicant Tracking System to report and monitor new hire information, and pipeline/candidate/requisition data.
  • Audit agency’s ATS to capture accurate candidate data; and ensure job requisitions are current and properly closed out.
  • Actively monitor the accuracy and completeness of new employee data such as EEO-related information and other data that may affect employee records.

 

Talent Management (10%)

  • Partner with Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition/Talent Management and Director of Talent Management to support the implementation of talent management related projects and initiatives.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 4 years of administrative experience, with 2 years in human resources strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external constituents.
  • Technical proficiency—ability to utilize and navigate various systems/tools: HRIS, ATS, Microsoft Office applications, as well as Internet savvy.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and industry best practices in recruiting and onboarding preferred.
  • Good follow-through and an understanding of time sensitive matters. 
  • Detail oriented and ability to organize/prioritize work, manage multiple tasks and projects, adapt to changing processes.
  • High standards of ethics with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
