Title:              NetSuite Non-Profit Controller

Reports to:    CFO

Schedule: Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm

Summary:    The Controller is responsible for the overall accounting, financial reporting and analysis for Concern and its HUD 202/811 Affiliates. This position oversees accounting for the ongoing operations and development of these entities. It is also responsible for the cash management function for Concern and all of its affiliated (HUD 202/811) entities.    

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the A/P and A/R operations for Concern and the HUD Project Share entities and Concern’s Rep Payee function.
  • Bank liaison and management of the cash function for Concern and the HUD Project Share entities to ensure adequate cash balances in all accounts to cover all checks/withdrawals being drawn against each account. 
  • Coordination and management of the monthly accounting close for Concern and the Project Shares.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and development of the accounting system. Will lead the accounting software selection, due diligence and implementation of the new software and integration with other software.
  • Preparation quarterly GAAP interim consolidated financial statements and footnotes and other ad hoc financial reports for management as needed.
  • Coordination and management of the annual budget process and the preparation and analysis of monthly budget to actual reports.
  • Responsible for the financial reporting and analysis for the Homestart program and the Amityville Community Center. 
  • Monitors internal controls, policies and procedures relating to financial agency functions. This includes but is not limited to: computerized systems, financial records and transactions, internal/external reporting, filing, staffing, etc.
  • Responsible for the review of the Federal and State tax filings for Concern.
  • Reviews calculation of quarterly pension contributions prepared by Human Resources. Is back up to HR for pension distribution requests, annual pension census, annual pension audit and review of form 5500.
  • Review of the payroll bank reconciliation.
  • Review of the Project Share PRAC renewals.
  • Special projects as needed.
  • Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.

Qualifications:  Bachelors degree and supervisory experience required. A minimum of five years experience, preferably in a non-profit organization. Net Suite experience a plus.
