The Senior Accountant will apply accounting principles to prepare financial reports, compile financial information, analyze financial data, and ensure financial compliance. They are also responsible for the month-end close processes and supervision Staff Accountants and Bookkeepers.
Position: Senior Accountant
Location: Medford, NY
Hours: Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the monthly accounting close for all entities.
- Prepare financial and budget-to-actual reports for investors, funders and internal purposes.
- Supervisor bookkeepers and staff accountants and review applicable work.
- Assists with the annual financial statement audits.
- Prepare spreadsheets for development accounting.
- Review bank reconciliations and journal entries.
- Manage agency credit cards procedures and accounting.
- Manage Amazon Business account.
- Special projects as needed.
- Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.
Positions Supervised: Bookkeepers & Staff Accountants
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Analytical ability and proficiency in Excel. Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite ERP a plus. A minimum of two years experience in accounting.
