Overview

Overview

CFR Outreach targets communities in a cross-section of American life, including educators and students; congregational leaders, religion scholars, and representatives of faith-based organizations; state and local officials; and local journalists in order to elevate conversations on U.S. foreign policy choices and increase civic engagement.

The Local Journalists (LJ) initiative equips journalists with the expertise and resources needed to draw connections between the local issues they cover and national and international trends and events. Through webinars and an annual workshop in New York, CFR connects local journalists with policy experts on regional and thematic issues of national and global interest and provides a forum for discussion of best practices for reporting. The initiative also makes available the vast array of CFR digital and print resources that offer the authoritative, independent analysis necessary for informing the public on international affairs and supporting an informed citizenry.
