Culture For One seeks a Development and Program Associate to join its growing organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in support of our Program and Development teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career professional with interest in development, grant writing, programming, or related field. We are looking for someone who is kind, proactive, and organized, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a positive “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude.

  • Has the ability to multitask, prioritize and organize work to effectively balance multiple assignments, set priorities, report on progress, and meet deadlines.
  • Is proficient with Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Zoom, and has knowledge of a donor management software, i.e., Salesforce, Insightly, Network for Good. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years related non-profit experience, preferably in development, grant writing, or programming 
  • Familiarity with the foster care system, social services, or arts education. 

Core Areas of Responsibility:

The Development and Program Associate reports to the Director of Development and the Program Director, and works collaboratively with the entire team. Day-to-day, the Development and Program Associate contributes to the following key priorities:

DEVELOPMENT

  • Assist with targeted fundraising by coordinating mailings to donors and potential donors throughout the year. 
  • Organize and maintain accurate institutional donor records in our Network for Good database and ensure best practice data management.
  • Follow up on and collect donor pledges. 
  • Reconcile reports with Accounting Manager.
  • Generate weekly and monthly contributions reports. 

GRANT REPORTING AND APPLICATIONS

  • Maintain proposal and reporting deadlines and alert the team of upcoming grant reports and applications. 
  • Manage and maintain the Grants Calendar with supervision of the Director of Development. 
  • Collect program and financial data needed to complete grant applications.

PROGRAMMING

  • Facilitate Excursions and Workshops as requested by Program Manager and/or Program Director.
  • Record all post-program items (attendance, photo consent, photo archiving, feedback forms).
  • Record all numbers and data in programming records. 
  • Submit and record and program related expenses and invoices. 
  • Update programming contact lists. 

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Ability to travel within NYC’s boroughs.
  • Fully vaccinated (two shots plus a booster) against COVID-19. 
  • Successfully completed a background check and fingerprinting with the NYC Department of Education (DOE).
  • Authorized to work in the United States for any employer. No visa sponsorship is available for this position
  • Available to participate in weekly in-person meetings at Culture For One headquarters in New York City.
