Project

 

 

MSF-USA is seeking a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator to join our growing team as we build out our modern tech stack, including Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP), Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Springboard, a data warehouse, and multiple system integrations.

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator will work closely with fundraising stakeholders, the CRM Strategy technical team, and external vendor partners to understand and execute on the department’s strategic vision for Marketing Automation.

The SFMC Administrator will be responsible for configuration and ongoing maintenance of the platform, including implementing and enhancing donor journeys, list segmentation, and other strategic technical work.

The ideal candidate for this position has technical SFMC platform expertise in a nonprofit context and the ability to translate marketing users’ business needs into journeys, automations, and queries on the SFMC platform.

 

 

Tasks

 

  • Serve as the primary administrator and technical expert for MSF-USA’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud instance, which includes:
    • 15 users in Fundraising, Communications, and at external vendors
    • 5M-8M emails sent a month
    • Integration with Salesforce NPSP instance via Marketing Cloud Connect
    • 5 current donor journeys, with plans for more
    • An expanding SMS program
  • Create and maintain Data Extensions and segmentation groups, leading development of our SFMC data architecture
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automated jobs to ensure that they run successfully, including an ETL that populates our business unit with updated Salesforce data nightly
  • Map, implement, and maintain multi-channel marketing journeys in the platform according to priority, including email, phone, and mobile touchpoints
  • Build and maintain automations that utilize multiple data sources for campaigns
  • Leverage SFMC APIs for data integrations
  • Manage basic administrative system functions including user creation/deactivation, access management
  • Partner with Marketing Technology Manager to understand strategic business needs of Audience Directors and Channel Managers
  • Work with Marketing Technology Manager to support user base with questions and issues, triaging and escalating as needed
  • Perform quality assurance testing and lead User Acceptance Testing on new development work as needed
  • Validate the quality of work done by external partners and provide testing feedback
  • Partner with the Research & Analytics team to support creation, delivery, and maintenance of needed reports
  • Keep up-to-date documentation on system configuration and governance, including journey configuration, internal business rules, and administrative processes
  • Keep abreast of SFMC system releases, features, and best practices, making recommendations to leaders about new features as appropriate
  • Serve as an internal expert and advisor on SFMC and marketing-related systems
  • Provide input in the development of the product roadmap for fundraising systems with the CRM Director and product leaders
  • Additional assignments as required

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

Required

 

  • Experience writing SQL SELECT statements to perform list segmentation, populate SFMC Data Extensions, and/or similar use cases
  • At least 3 years of experience managing and administering Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including building and maintaining data extensions
  • Experience implementing customer/donor journeys in Journey Builder
  • Experience creating automations in Automation Studio
  • Excellent listening skills to fully understand requirements and pain points
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests in an organized and effective manner
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics at all levels of the organization and across departments
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, comfortable with a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with project management tools and agile software development methodology

 

Preferred

 

  • Certified Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator credential
  • Experience with nonprofits and fundraising practices
  • Familiarity with digital marketing strategies and tactics
  • Strong commitment to MSF mission and humanitarian principles

 

Expected to work in a hybrid  work environment with the ability to come into either the NYC office or regional hub (Washington, DC or Bay Area, California) a minimum of 2 times a week.
