HR Specialist Job Description

HR Duties

• Conduct new hire orientations and on-boarding.

• Guide new employees on filling out all required employment forms to be filed and entered into payroll software.  

• Ensure new/rehires employees are in receipt of important organization information such as employee’s handbook and ADP acknowledgment forms.

• Arrange for Employee Benefits after 3 months of employment milestone.

• Benefits Management and maintenance that includes arranging for employee benefits; enrolling and dis-enrolling employees from health insurance; tracking employees’ PTO and requests.

• Provide high-Quality advice and service to management on employee relations and performance management issues.

• Offer proactive recruiting assistance for all programs.

• Company-Employee communications

• Keep abreast on regulatory compliance and reporting

• Preparation of termination and severance letters.

• Conduct exit interviews

• Maintain personnel files ensuring all hire and separation documentation is received and maintained in personnel folders; ensure that training certificates, where necessary, are kept up to date in an organized manner.

• Enter payroll into accounting software/maintain bi-weekly payroll spreadsheet.

• Assist and other ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources or related field 

• At least three years experience in HR at a non-profit;

• Knowledge and experience with HR duties;

• Working knowledge of Excel;

• Must be reliable and possess a high level of professionalism;

• Strong work ethic who respects deadlines;

• Must be organized;

• Good written and verbal communications;

• Familiarity with FundEZ;

• Familiarity with non-profit organizations; sensitivity to working with women; 

• Good team player who enjoys collaboration; must possess a “can do” attitude.

• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

• Cognizant and sensitive to multicultural issues.

Salary: Part-time, $30,000 per annum, 20 hours per week.
