Overview

The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks an Institutional Giving Associate to provide support for all aspects of operating and capital grant partnerships. As part of a 20-member Advancement Department charged with raising over $19 million annually, the Institutional Giving Associate will be an integral team member focusing on foundation, corporate, union and government grants. This is currently a hybrid position with the expectation of 2-3 days working from the Fund’s Times Square office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Institutional Giving Associate will support the Deputy Director of Advancement & Director of Institutional Giving in building and stewarding a sustainable portfolio of foundation, corporate, union and government supporters via their various giving channels. The Institutional Giving Associate will also serve as primary contact for a small portfolio of corporate relationships to ensure that all employee engagement, marketing benefits and other grant requirements are fulfilled. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in development/advancement or equivalent (in either a professional or volunteer capacity)
  • Experience with and understanding of basic fundraising concepts and skills 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills; detail oriented 
  • Must be able to work occasional evening and weekend hours

PREFERRED QUALITIES

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Raiser’s Edge NXT or other donor database software, and Adobe Pro.
  • Creative, strategic thinker with an interest in the performing arts and entertainment and/or social services
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in an exciting, fast-paced and creative environment
  • Self-motivated, ability to work well independently and as part of a team

This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in the Entertainment Community Fund’s National Headquarters Office in Times Square, New York City.
