Overview

Summary:  Working under the direct supervision of the Education Director and Events and Development Manager, operating the front desk with the day-to-day tasks of the organization, including general correspondence, office organization, education registration, calendar updates, and more.  

Qualifications: The job requires an individual to be detail-oriented and organized, possess excellent people skills, and have an interest in the arts.  Must also possess excellent computer skills and a working knowledge of applications, including Microsoft Office, Google products, and PayPal.  Basic knowledge of In-Design and Photoshop is a plus.

Front Office:

●Answers main office telephone 

●Sort email in the general info box, responds as needed to direct requests for information, and/or forwards messages to appropriate staff 

●Manage general office and organization calendar 

●Assess office supply needs and place orders

Education:

● Provide adult and youth student customer service via email, phone, and in person

● Assist with registration logistics like updating web products and calendars, as well as tracking

student registrations

● Monitor classrooms to ensure proper supplies and materials are available, organize and

clean as necessary

● Support staff on summer camp programming with registration, parent communications and day-to-day logistics

● Partner with the Education Directo to facilitate growing Community Arts Outreach

Gallery duties include:

●Prepare price lists, wall statements, and  sign-in sheets for upcoming exhibitions

●Save and organize applications in the drive for the gallery committee 

●Update both Google Drive calendar and website calendars in line with upcoming dates/exhibitions

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Willingness to learn new programs

● Interest in community engagement, arts education, or arts administration

● Familiarity with websites, excel, Google Sheets, and CRM databases

● Strong communication and customer service skills

● Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

● Ability to work Saturdays and special events

● Ability to work self-directed and within a small group; manage several projects at once and

meet deadlines

● Creative thinker and proactive problem solver

This position requires someone who can work onsite at Garrison Art Center. For gallery openings and other events, some work may be required on evenings and weekends.

Garrison Art Center offers paid vacation and sick time and the opportunity to take free classes.

Events and Development duties include: 

● Provide general administrative support to the Events and Development Manager.
