Organization Overview: The Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) is a non-profit, multi-service organization focusing primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.

 

Position Summary: The Aging Services Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Community Telehealth Project in partnership with Metropolitan Hospital and assisting with oversight of the Neighborhood Development Area (NDA) Grant at the Isaacs Center and Taft Older Adult Center. This will include conducting outreach to promote programs and identify new participants, working with partner agencies to meet deliverables, leading programs, and supervising staff. Provision of services will be in accordance with Isaacs Center policies, contractual guidelines and standards.

 

Schedule: 35 hours per week. 

 

Goddard Riverside and Isaacs Center follow the CDC and NYS recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and are now requiring all new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they have a qualified exemption.

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

Primary Duties:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Community Telehealth Project in partnership with Metropolitan Hospital which include: supervising staff, reviewing case files for quality assurance and compliance, acting as a liaison with funders and community partners

 

Qualifications: 

The successful candidate for the role of Aging Services Coordinator should have:

  • Demonstrated experience in program startup
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities, developing and leading programs, and providing thoughtful leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, organizational, and teaming skills are essential.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required, MSW/LMSW is preferred.
  • Provision of services will be in accordance with Isaacs Center policies, contractual guidelines, and standards.

 

Education/Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MSW or LMSW a plus
  • SIFI certification preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish is required
  • Prior supervisory/managerial experience preferred
  • Must be comfortable using Microsoft Office products and have the ability to learn multiple databases for documentation purposes
  • Previous experience working with older adults strongly preferred
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours (e.g. evenings, weekends, holidays) when needed
