Overview

Intro/Program Description: Goddard Riverside @ LSNC is a settlement house community center that serves the educational, recreational and cultural needs and aspirations of the Lincoln Square community with a focus on the residents of Amsterdam Houses and the Amsterdam Addition. Programs include: early childhood, after school, teen and young adult programs, parent supports, and center and home-based services to older adults. In addition, we provide space for civic and cultural events and community gatherings.

 

Purpose of Position: The youth programs are supervised and structured programs for children kindergarten through college. In collaboration with various funders, Goddard Riverside @ Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center, provides services for 80-100+ participants throughout the school year and summer. The Program Coordinator will provide support in the development and oversight of these services year-round.

 

Schedule: Monday through Friday 11:00 am to 7:00 pm

 

Goddard Riverside and Isaacs Center follow the CDC and NYS recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and are now requiring all new hires to be vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they have a qualified exemption. 

 

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

  • Assist with the overall planning and implementation of daily programming for all youth programs
  • Assist with the supervision, training and onboarding of program staff and YSC Interns
  • Conduct Outreach for Youth Programs
  • Serve as the direct contact for families regarding general program information, enrollment and billing
  • Create and update program forms and documents as needed (weekly, monthly, yearly)
  • Facilitate Hello Insight Surveys & other data collection for Data Integration
  • Perform other clerical duties related to programming
  • Serve as the “Site Supervisor”, for the After School Program, in the absence of Program Director (SACC Regulation)
  • Complete 15 hours of OCFS Training yearly – After School Program

 

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • High School Diploma; Associates preferred: preferably in Education or social work; BA a plus
  • Some administrative and supervisory experience in social services programs
  •  Able to pass all State & Citywide Background checks (D of Education & Department of Health Fingerprinting, State Central Registry, Staff Exclusionary List, Sex Offender Registry)
  • Current CPR/First Aid Training a plus
  • Current DOE & DOH mandated trainings a plus

  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability to take initiative in work assignments
  • Must be highly organized
  • Ability to navigate digital systems
  • Must have a good sense of humor and enjoy working with children
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)

 

Physical Requirements

  •  Frequent bending, kneeling, and walking – including participation in program activities with program participants

  • Indoor/ Outdoor/ Community Center setting
