Position Summary 

The Production Assistant (PA) reports to the Production Manager of Greenwich House Music School (GHMS). The main responsibility of the PA is to help facilitate, on the day of the event, a satisfactory rental experience for the client. When hired for an event, the PA monitors and assists with in-house concerts and recitals, as well as event rentals for the Concert Hall located within the school. PA staff duties may include but are not limited to: stage hand, production staff, front of house, box office and ticketing, and selling merchandise.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with load in for events.
  • Assist clients with set-up and breakdown of the concert hall and stage, conference room, and/or outdoor garden space.
  • Operating house PA system, sound recording and livestreaming equipment as needed.
  • Adjusting house lights, ceiling fans, curtains and windows as advised and necessary.
  • Duties may include but are not limited to: assisting with set up of tables and/or chairs, hospitality, acting as stagehand, front of house, box office/ticketing, and selling merchandise.
  • Comfortable with setting up and working knowledge of available in-house instrument(s)/backline.
  • Return all equipment/gear, house furniture, and kitchen supplies to proper storage places.
  • General facility/event maintenance as needed (restocking paper-towels/napkins etc).
  • Clean, sweep and dispose of trash/recycling as necessary.
  • Lock up building as necessary (close all windows, shut and lock doors, set alarm).

Qualifications:

·      Prior experience working in a concert and/or event venue as a production assistant and/or stage manager/stagehand is preferred.

·      Prior experience working as a live or recording sound engineer is preferred.

·      Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·      Ability to follow instructions as delegated by supervisor.

·      Willing to work various types of events ranging from but not limited to: recitals, concerts, spoken-word/lectures, conference meetings, and children’s birthday parties. 

·      Ability to assist clients in a service industry environment.

·      Professional integrity and a strong sense of moral and ethical standards.

·      Comfortable working alone and/or without supervision.

·      Ability to satisfactorily perform other duties upon request by Production Manager and/or Director
