Overview

The Graphic Designer produces high-quality graphics for digital, web, social, email and print. In addition to producing high-quality marketing materials, the Graphic Designer is responsible for ongoing creation of graphic assets, photo editing, and graphic production assistance for larger scale projects.

 Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Design and produce graphics for print, social media channels, digital/web and emails in keeping with graphic design standards, project objectives, and branding guidelines.
  • Create reusable graphics templates; modify and resize existing graphics for various platforms and uses; format materials based on specifications.
  • Create production files for assets across digital/web and print designs.
  • Design and layout online and print publications, including reports, white papers, and pamphlets; create data visualization graphics for reports, such as tables, charts, etc.
  • Create promotional materials for online and print ads.
  • Create and produce other graphics as needed, including presentations, internal communications templates, text cards for videos, infographics, and more.
  • Retouch documentary, portrait, and marketing photographs.
  • Perform photo research from archives, publicly available image libraries, and stock agencies; recommend and purchase stock images as needed; track image rights usage.
  • Other duties as assigned

 Knowledge, Education or Experience

  • Associates’ degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in graphic design and digital media.
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator; fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint).
  • Professional experience and knowledge of design techniques and comfort working on a variety of disciplines, including digital, web, social, email, and print.
  • Understanding of trends and best practices for using graphics to communicate effectively via digital channels.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills: ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. 
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to deliver work products under deadlines, and commitment to high quality standards.

Nice to have but not required

  • Familiarity with Canva
  • Familiarity with collaborative workspace tools (Dropbox, Basecamp, Salesforce)
  • Premiere, After Effects, or video editing skills
  • Ability to create custom illustrations using Adobe programs or ProCreate
