The Corporate Engagement Officer supports HMl’s external engagement initiatives in the area of corporate relations and meaningful corporate engagement, both for the purpose of increasing HMl’s visibility, corporate partnerships and overall philanthropic support. As part of the Development Team, the Corporate Engagement Officer advises and collaborates on overall corporate strategy, including but not limited to event funding, foundation grants, corporate volunteer opportunities and special initiatives. This position will maintain a full portfolio of companies for which they are the primary relationship manager and will also actively research and pursue new corporate prospects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ JOB DUTIES

PORTFOLIO ! PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Contributes to the development and refinement of HMl’s corporate partner relationships and corporate volunteer strategy
  • Maintains and grows portfolio of revenue generating companies and manages all project activities generated from these companies
  • Manages and cultivates corporate relationships serving as main point of contact for portfolio corporations
  • Ensures that HMI leverages corporate employee giving and co-branded opportunities with corporate partners in conjunction with HMl’s Coordinator Community Engagement and Volunteers
  • Uses Raiser’s Edge database to note and track, in detail, the entire arc of HMl’s relationship with a corporation, including work efforts and all corporate engagement activities

CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT! PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

  • Helps develop strategic partnerships with corporate groups in accordance with the organization’s engagement strategy
  • Researches, identifies and engages new corporations and leverages knowledge of company’s CSR positioning to connect with HMI in an organic and meaningful manner
  • Leads project management for special initiatives as it relates to corporate engagement
  • Helps create partnership proposals, ensures that they are delivered in a timely manner and that deliverables of approved proposals are met
  • Works with Director of Institutional Giving to maximize corporate philanthropy opportunities and incorporate those opportunities in the overall strategy for each company where applicable
  • Ensures that corporate partners are always recognized appropriately by logo or in printed name and that all partners’ guidelines are followed pursuant to that listing
  • Maintains working knowledge of all corporate strategies to assist when called upon to do so
  • Coordinates all communication activities related to corporate engagement, including social media presence, e-newsletter, Facebook page, Twitter, and HMI Website
  • Develop, Manage and Curate Pride Initiatives with other companies

May be assigned other related job duties as determined by the Management of HMI

EDUCATION I EXPERIENCE I KNOWLEDGE REQUREMENTS

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university plus three (3) years’ experience; or Bachelor’s Degree plus five (5) years’ experience coordinating community engagement with corporations or individual based volunteer programs for a nonprofit organization
  • Prior corporate relationships a strong plus
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and/or other volunteer management databases is preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The work environment is consistent with an office and human service program environment
  • Noise level is moderate
  • Employee will be required to travel to corporate worksites throughout the New York metropolitan area
