Opportunity

IRAP is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the work of our IRAP Europe team in its

individual representation of refugees and displaced people seeking relocation through

humanitarian visas, family reunification, and other pathways to countries in North America,

Europe, and elsewhere. The position will report to the IRAP Europe Project Manager and

work closely with other IRAP Europe team staff.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in refugee rights to be part of a

new and rapidly growing team in an international legal aid organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support related to the IRAP Europe Team’s casework and programs, including through receipt and organization of new referrals and supporting materials, updating the team’s case docket, scheduling deadlines and assigning tasks to attorneys as appropriate, arranging travel for clients via partner organizations, and collating and mailing applications and supporting materials.
  • Assist IRAP Europe Co-Director and IRAP Europe Project Manager with drafting project grant reports to UNHCR, analyzing Salesforce data to track progress among various performance indicators
  • Draft, update, and organize substantive case type and procedural manuals relevant to IRAP Europe Team’s current docket and serve as point person for IRAP Manual and other internal resources drafting and upkeep
  • Prepare monthly analyses of the team's casework and conduct data analysis as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to the IRAP Europe team, including coordinating presentations, providing hiring support, scheduling meetings, and taking notes as needed
  • Organize and maintain IRAP Europe Team’s programmatic documents and internal systems (such as Google Drive and Dropbox folders)
  • Maintain a small casework docket and assist with other legal support tasks, such as communicating with potential clients, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or four years of work experience in an office environment with responsibilities similar to those required for this position
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a diverse workload with flexibility and strong time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Sensitivity to client empowerment and to working with clients of all backgrounds, including LGBTI clients, survivors of trauma, and other vulnerable populations
  • Familiarity with and orientation towards technology systems, including Microsoft,
  • Adobe, and Google Suite; experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills required; excellent skills in other languages (particularly Arabic, German, Farsi, French, Somali, Swedish, Tigrinya) a plus but not required

Location: The candidate will work in either the New York City or Berlin IRAP office. Candidates in both New York and Berlin are encouraged to apply.

Compensation

The annual full-time equivalent salary range for this position is commensurate with experience and office location. This role is subject to a collective bargaining agreement in the New York location. The salary ranges for each office are below:

New York: $61,904 – $80,474

Berlin: €52,549 – €70,672
