We are seeking a Development Coordinator to start immediately. This is a full-time position and the hours are 9-5.
General Description:
Reporting to the Director of Development, this position is responsible for providing operational, creative, technical and administrative support to assist the Development Department in meeting its annual fundraising goal.
Key Responsibilities (in Conjunction with the Development Director):
- Maintain an email, social media, print and phone campaign schedule in order to develop content, edit and deploy. This may include text-only, graphics or video editing. This includes but not limited to the Annual Report, Seasonal Newsletters, event material and other multimedia publications.
- Create individual fundraising assets for constituents.
- Maintain and update the website–update the front page regularly, work with other departments to update their web presence (i.e., Admissions page, Employment Opportunities page, Meet the Staff page).
- Manage LSS’ mailing list via Raiser’s Edge data and donor entries through consistent upkeep and reconciliations, in conjunction with the Finance Department. Run queries and fundraising reports for mail merges, Development meetings, Board meetings, and individual committee meetings.
- Assist with preparation and promotion of LSS community events, as deemed appropriate. Includes three major events a year (fall fundraiser, spring gala and virtual event).
- Manage vendor relationships and contract details to help Development to execute its event plan.
- Assist in the application for grants and marathons in which LSS is a non-profit partner. Certify our non-profit status with corporations, as needed. Supply information as needed to corporations to confirm our non-profit credentials.
- Accept donations electronically via corporate sites/donor advised fund sites.
- Facilitate thank you and acknowledgement letters to donors.
- Oversee logistical preparation by working with external vendors and internal staff as appropriate.
- Liaise and provide customer service among families, donors, and other faculty and staff within LSS and the Development Department. Attend all Development Committee and individual committee meetings as deemed appropriate, and record official minutes.
- Manage the volunteer base for events and committees.
- Handle all administrative tasks, as deemed necessary.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience.
- Some knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Proficient knowledge of Premiere Pro and Canva, a must.
- Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and fundraising is a plus.
- Excellent computer skills are critical. High proficiency in Google Suite. Microsoft Excel is a plus.
- Strong copy-editing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, very high attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be comfortable around children with special needs.
- Outgoing, positive attitude.
- Must be able to sit and work on a computer for long hours.
- Must be able to communicate via text and telephone.
- Must be fingerprinted and approved by the Department of Education to work in a school.
