Overview
Position summary
The
Director of Foundations and Corporations reports to the Vice President and
works in consultation with the frontline fundraisers. The Director of
Development, Corporate and Foundations is responsible for assisting the
frontline fundraising professionals in the cultivation, solicitation, and
stewardship of corporate and foundation donors. This position is responsible
for sponsorship procurement, grant writing, and stewardship activities to
achieve annual fundraising goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven
track record of success in corporate and foundation fundraising, as well as
strong management skills.
Principal Accountabilities
·
Expand and develop a comprehensive list of corporations and
foundation who support educational institutions especially in the Middle
East.
·
Support the VP, AVP and the frontline fundraisers for outreach
to Corporations and Foundations.
·
Develop and implement comprehensive strategy for corporate
fundraising programs and foundation grant procurement
·
Identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors from corporations
and foundations to support university programs and initiatives
·
Oversee corporate sponsorship opportunities related to events,
athletics and other campus activities
·
Manage portfolio of existing corporate and foundation donors;
steward relationships to ensure continued support
·
Write grant proposals and reports for submissions to foundation
and corporate donors
·
Collaborate with campus partners to gather data and information needed for
proposals and reporting
·
Maintain tracking system of all pending and awarded grants and
manage grant calendar
·
Represent advancement team in meetings with corporate and
foundation donors
·
Develop budgets, set goals and analyze data to enhance
fundraising efforts
·
Oversee the corporate and foundation online presence
to ensure all content is up to date
·
Ensure
that information is updated and saved on the database.
·
Support other tasks as assigned by VP and AVP to ensure
effective operations of the wider LAU team
Qualifications and Education Requirements
·
Bachelor degree is required
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
·
4+
years fundraising experience with proven success in corporate and foundation
relations
·
Strong
organizational, project management and communication abilities
·
Grant
writing experience and familiarity with research databases
·
Proficiency
in MS Office and fundraising CRM platforms
Required Skills
·
Exceptional written and
verbal English language skills.
·
Exceptional time
management, organizational and interpersonal skills with experience of working
with and influencing senior staff members
·
Excellent attention to
detail and the ability to edit others work
·
Willingness to work
evenings and weekends in support of the wider department is required
·
Proficient in Microsoft Office
(Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
