JOB OVERVIEW:

The Accounts Payable Specialist reviews and approves invoices and employee expense reports, issues timely payments to vendors, and responds to vendor and LISC staff inquiries. This position calls for strong attention to detail, multi-tasking skills and the ability to meet deadlines. The successful candidate should have excellent customer service and communication skills. This position requires a high level of confidentiality and reports directly to the Accounts Payable Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Timely review and approval of invoices and employee expense reports. Ensure that proper documentation is provided as support for expense reports.
  • Ensure invoices and employee expense report charges are coded to the proper general ledger account.
  • Review W-9 forms and create new vendor profiles in NetSuite. If necessary, reach out to vendors to obtain correct W-9 forms.
  • Review certification forms and financial reports submitted with grant disbursement requests.
  • Review small grant requests.
  • Perform verification calls with vendors to confirm banking information.
  • Respond effectively and timely to customers’ (both internal and external) inquiries.
  • Ensure quality customer service for internal and external customers.
  • Complies with and understands the company’s operation, policy and procedures.
  • Performs other accounts payable and general accounting tasks and projects as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum (3) three years of experience in an accounts payable role.
  • Knowledge and experience with NetSuite & Certify preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook. Intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Open to change and willing to learn new skills.
  • Ability to follow up on pending issues.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

COMPENSATION:

LISC offers a competitive salary ($56,270 – $66,200) and excellent fringe benefits.

Actual salaries may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
