Who We Are
New Visions for Public Schools is the leading non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement of public education in New York City. Today, we support 1,600 public schools and thousands of teachers, serving almost 1,000,000 students, in their most critical work: deciding what and how to teach, helping keep students on track to graduation, and preparing students for success beyond high school. New Visions directly manages a network of 10 charter high schools across the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.
Who You Are
You have previous experience supporting procurement teams and are looking to transfer your skills to a mission-driven organization. You’re a creative problem solver who is entrepreneurial and motivated by data and results. You drive deadlines and are able to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. You’re looking for a part-time role that fits to supplement other things you’re focused on right now. You believe in our mission to provide best-in-class education to all students and won’t let anything stand in your way of making that a reality.
Requirements:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of prior experience in procurement or accounting
- Comfortable with number-crunching, finances and book-keeping
- A high degree of organization, attention to detail, and systematic approach
- Skilled at using spreadsheets, including advanced formulae, queries, pivot tables and if-functions
- Diligent about following up and documenting handover tasks
What You’ll Do
You’ll support our mission by fulfilling purchase requests for colleagues, managing vendor relationships, processing timely payments, working as part of a team and maintaining integrity. You’ll build relationships with people of all backgrounds and connect them to a common goal.
