Position Summary
Parks & Trails New York seeks a collegial, part-time Development & Operations Associate with strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills to join us.

Reporting to the Development & Operations Manager, the Development & Operations Associate is responsible for providing support for key development and office operations roles for a hybrid office of 12 full-time employees.  This position will help ensure the smooth execution of key organizational functions and support the maintenance of a positive working environment.

Duties

Lead the fulfillment of:
Development Campaigns: processing organizational mailings, including thank you letters, membership renewals, annual appeals, coordinating postage, etc.
Merchandise Sales: processing and shipping of guidebooks, cycling jerseys, incentive gifts, general merchandise, and other promotional materials for PTNY initiatives
General office management: mail processing, order/track office supplies (electronic and other), support the maintenance of a clean, organized office suite
Support regular data entry and hygiene best-practices: management of  PTNY’s Neon CRM database, coordinating with the staff to scope and execute project-based data clean-up and data entry initiatives
Support other staff members by responding to phones and general email accounts, redirecting inquires; serve as a point-of-contact for people looking to connect with PTNY’s programs
Support coordination of PTNY staff events
Other duties/special projects as needed

Qualifications

Friendly approach to interacting with coworkers and a strong customer-service mindset
Self-starter, strong multi-tasker, team player, ability to communicate effectively
Experience with database management preferred; CRM experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize work
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is essential
Strong written, verbal, and listening skills

Accessibility

Work is performed predominantly in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Candidates must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items. Occasionally, candidates may be asked to cover short distances (up to 0.5 miles). Repetitive hand motions and time spent at a computer monitor make up a significant portion of this position.

Compensation

This is anticipated to be a 15-hour per week, part-time position with some variability depending on organizational priorities.
The hourly range for the Development & Operations Associate is $20-$25 per hour, depending on experience. PTNY is a well-funded organization with revenue from a variety of private, state and local sources and is not reliant on federal support.
While our organization is on a hybrid office model, we anticipate 90% of this position working in-person at our co-working office space, The Blake Annex, in downtown Albany.  All PTNY employees have access to the amenities provided by The Blake. We are only seeking New York Capital Region-based applicants at this time.

Hiring Process & Timeline

Initial candidates will be invited for a brief screening call, set up via email.  Selected candidates will then be invited for an in-person interview.   Those invited for an in-person interview will be notified within one to two weeks of the phone screening. Our objective is to onboard our Development & Operations Associate in late August or early September 2025.
