Repair the World mobilizes Jews and their communities to take action to pursue a just world. We believe that service in support of social change is vital to a flourishing Jewish community and an inspired Jewish life. By 2026, Repair will inspire and catalyze one million acts of service towards repairing the world.

Repair is building a Jewish service movement that mobilizes young adults to serve in their communities, catalyzes service through deep partnerships within Jewish communal organizations, and inspires people to take action through time-bound thematic campaigns, digital engagement, and service.

Position Overview

Repair the World is hiring a full-time Operations Associate. The position will function as a key coordination and support role in the Operations Department and report directly to the Director of Operations. The Operations Associate will execute organizational needs while identifying existing bottlenecks and recommending solutions. Operations touches all parts of the organization, and the role requires considerable cross-functional teamwork. This New York-based role requires in-person attendance at our office in NY’s financial district 2-3 days a week with a remote work option for the remaining days of the week.

Position Responsibilities

  • Contract & vendor manager: Manage annual calendar of contract renewals with vendors and service providers – leases, office equipment, legal and insurance fees, Repair swag, and renewals. Fill out paperwork accurately and on time. 
  • Technology Point: Order and maintain technology inventory; liaise with IT service provider. Help evaluate and determine technology priorities based on need and budget constraints.
  • Consistently update staff resources website.
  • Office manager: Keep Repair’s New York office well-organized and responsive to team needs (assign desks to new employees, help keep the office neat, useful, and friendly). 
  • Manage physical mail inbox/outbox. 
  • Mail swag to new staff, create and send business cards, and organize office-wide events as needed.
  • Manager Repair office calendar
  • Internal communications: Collect resources and draft internal staff weekly memos, make weekly ops-related announcements in slack, and lead internal training for new staff on systems such as monday.com and slack.
  • Event Logistics: Help plan and execute logistics for all staff meetings and retreats.
  • Finance: Submit credit card receipts and payables weekly. 

Position Requirements

  • 1-2 years admin or operations experience, either work or internship
  • Creative problem-solver able to anticipate and solve problems independently and follow through on projects to completion
  • Experience with handling complicated projects and logistics; detailed oriented with an eye for finding gaps and problem-solving
  • Creativity and excitement for creating and implementing new ideas and procedures
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate across different groups and levels of management
  • Passion for Repair’s mission and values

Compensation

 For candidates with 1-2 years of experience, compensation for this role starts at $64,100. If you have additional experience, let’s talk.  

The benefits package includes paid time off for service in addition to vacation and holidays; the employer pays 100% for employee medical/dental/vision coverage and 50% for dependents, retirement matching, and professional development funds.

The process for the hired applicant process will include:

  • Submit a Resume and concise cover letter highlighting recent operations-related accomplishments.
  • Applicants moved forward will have a first-round interview with a Repair HR/Operations team member.
  • Applicants who are moved to a second round will interview with Repair’s Director of Operations and Senior Associate, Operations. 
  • All finalists will need to provide two professional references.
