Overview
The Rogosin Institute is a not-for-profit medical care organization affiliated with New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine. Rogosin is recognized throughout the country as one of the premier centers for the diagnosis and management of kidney disease and for its unique approach to prevention, detection and management of chronic, and end-stage kidney disease caring for patients for over 40 years.
The Development Office at The Rogosin Institute has an immediate opening for a Development Coordinator, who plays an important role in a two-person team. The Development Coordinator participates in all fundraising activities including donor and public relations, direct mail appeals and specials events. S/he will also provide administrative support to the Development Office. This is a position with wide-ranging responsibilities and is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants a career in the non-profit sector.
Job Duties:
*Special events. Coordinates revenue-producing special events both large and small. Occasional evening hours required.
*Database management, donation processing & fundraising operations. Responsible for gift processing, running financial reports and reconciling deposits with financial office. Updates donor records and contact notes. Prepares acknowledgements and pledge reminders.
*Major gift fundraising support. Conducts qualification research and prepares profiles on major donors and prospects. Assists with donor meeting briefings as needed.
*Foundation grants support. Assists with proposal submissions and grant reports, and tracks deadlines. Conducts research on foundation and corporate funders.
*Social media and communications support. Assists with creation of social media posts in collaboration with Director and other staff. Designs event invitations on Canva. Assists with design of RI Newsletter. Prepares minutes for board and committee meetings.
*Administrative support. Coordinates meeting dates and attendance for Board and Development Committee. Designs and runs queries from database for annual appeal. Performs mail merges for mailings. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree.
*2-3 years prior experience in Fundraising/Development, communications and/or special event planning.
*Excellent computer skills and high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva and Constant Contact preferred; capable of taking on projects and being responsible for their successful completion.
*Excellent organization skills, strong attention to detail and ability to multitask, ability to work both independently and in a team, experience with databases preferred, excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional attitude and appearance.
