Vice President Community and Digital Services
Summary:
The Vice President utilizes outstanding management skills to oversee Safe Horizon’s community based services including anti-trafficking services and borough-based community offices and digital programs including hotlines, helpline, and digital chat to ensure quality client services; advocate effectively with systems; specifically standardized client centered practice and quality assurance initiatives. The Vice President will be part of a dynamic team that will establish standardized best practices for community based and digital victim services that are client-centered, trauma-informed and anti-oppressive.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients. Coach and guide staff in their client practice and their relationships/interactions with colleagues that reflect these approaches.
- Provide overall management and strategic leadership of the community-based programs including the citywide anti-trafficking program, the borough-based community offices, and digital services including 24/7 hotlines, helpline, and digital chat.
- Provide bi-weekly supervision and ongoing support to managerial staff including performance evaluations, conduct frequent site visits to all portfolio programs, and establish open communication with direct service staff.
- Ensure quality client practice and critical practice analysis by overseeing staff training, workshops and activities to support staff enrichment and development.
- Oversee the fulfillment of all contract and reporting requirements;
- Manage programmatic budget in partnership with the Associate Vice President, Administrative Director and program leadership;
- Ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness of data entry into the Case Management System, and ensure ongoing support and coaching for new and existing staff in the use of the system.
- Create, run and analyze data reports to inform practice and operations.
- Assist in the completion of funding proposals; prepare for funder monitoring visits and audits. Ensure compliance with funder requirements to maintain relationships with existing funders and attract new funders.
- Facilitate development and implementation of program and organizational policies;
- Collaborate with key partners to nurture and further develop strategic partnerships; problem solve issues; identify gaps in services and remove barriers for victims of crime and abuse who are seeking services.
- Represent Safe Horizon at conferences and in meetings, acting as a compelling advocate for Safe Horizon’s programs with internal and external stakeholders; positioning Safe Horizon as a leading authority on direct service to victims
- Utilize technology as a communication and collaboration tool, where appropriate: Email, Calendar, Sharepoint, MS Teams, Zoom, and other applications, as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Seven years of relevant management experience using a client-centered approach, providing supervision within a social service organization providing direct services
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
- A sound knowledge of issues related to victimization, crime, and abuse
- Commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression work including self-reflection, changing systems, organizational structures, policies and practices and attitudes, and supporting staff through change and discomfort. Ability to commit to repair work when relationships are impacted.
- A deep understanding and ability to articulate the intersections of race, class, gender and sexuality and other hierarchies and structures to advance Safe Horizon’s anti-racist work;
- Demonstrated experience developing strategic initiatives and managing to a diverse staff to achieve results that are client centered and that client needs are built into solutions and processes
- Demonstrated managerial experience, utilizing diplomacy, tact, discretion and negotiation skills, with a successful track record of instilling direction and leadership, mentoring staff, evaluation performance, and providing performance feedback
- Experience with participatory and collaborative decision-making processes, or willingness to learn and participate.
- Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, motivate and retain quality staff and manage performance.
- Excellent interpersonal, platform and presentation skills to communicate with internal or external audiences;
- Strong interpersonal, listening skills and solid time management skills
- The ability to manage multiple complex issues and projects at the same time and exercise sound judgment.
- Computer literacy and analytical skills required; proficiency in Microsoft Office software and proficiency in using and understanding data as a management tool.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas in writing for different audiences.

Hiring Range: 118,800.00 – 133,700.00 Salaried
Full-time Hours: 35 Hours per week
