Next Gen Pastor to Youth and Young Adults

The St. Paul Community Baptist Church is in search of a Full Time Next Gen Pastor to Youth and Young Adults. We are a prophetic community with a ministry that is cutting edge. We desire a Youth

Pastor who is dedicated to growing our children in prophetic witness, as well as personal development for their relationships with Christ. This person has a standard of excellence for leadership development, strategy, and team alignment. This person must be willing to be local to the Greater Brooklyn, NY area and will report to the office of the Assistant Pastor.

 Qualifications and Position Requirements:

·A vocational calling to youth and young adult ministry, with a passion for seeing young people and children grow into disciples of Christ.

·An ability to imagine a long-term vision for St. Paul Community Baptist Church’s youth ministry and be able to execute this vision.

 ·An engaging teacher, with a strong biblical and theological background with the ability to reach our youth and young adults at their level.

·A relational leader who is self-motivated with the ability to make timely decisions.

·High level of emotional intelligence and capacity for empathy.

·Effective communicator with strategic creativity to articulate vision from the office of the Lead Pastor.

·Genuine openness and comprehensive understanding of Afrocentric principles, including but not

limited to, ancestor veneration and rituals.

·Comprehensive understanding and passion for community organizing, actions, and rallies.

·Masters of Divinity. Consideration will also be given to applicants who are working towards their

MDIV that are still able to work full-time.

·1-3 years of experience working with youth and children and efficiency in Social Media is required.

·A strong prophetic preaching voice with a heavy lean towards social justice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·Lead and organize an effective youth and young adult ministry that includes fellowship, worship, teaching, discipleship, and evangelism, including mission and outreach opportunities.

·Lead curator of events, activities, and rituals for youth and young adults during our annual MAAFA

Commemoration and Conference, which is one of our high holy seasons along with the seasons of Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, and Resurrection Sunday.

·Recruit, train volunteer staff with diverse gifts and personalities.

·First line of report for counseling and spiritual direction to youth and young adults with collaboration with Pastoral Team and The Board of Elders.

·Maintain contact with youth, young adults, and parents, keeping them informed of ongoing activities. Keep them updated on ministry strategies and plans, and encouraging partnership.

·Assist in the development and oversight of the youth and young adult ministry budget; including the management of fees for events and trips in a timely fashion with the fiscal office.

·Organize all of the youth and young adult ministry opportunities at St. Paul Community Baptist Church under their leadership.

·Work with the Pastoral Team to integrate youth and young adults into all phases of church life in order to create a culture that is intentionally inter-generational.

·Lead us in worship as a member of the Pastoral Team as necessary.
